Rules:

  • Dogs are not allowed, except guide and assistance dogs. Please leave pets on the ground.
  • Strollers can't be taken in the elevators or to the terrace, café, or restaurant. Staff will show you where to leave them.
  • For fire prevention reasons, open fires and candles are prohibited without exception on the entire Danube Tower.
  • Smoking is officially prohibited throughout the tower.
  • The stairs to the catering areas and the stairs to the indoor terrace cannot be used with wheelchairs.
  • Stairs to catering areas and indoor terrace are not wheelchair accessible.
  • Unfortunately, the catering areas are not barrier-free.
  • No food or drinks on the observation deck. Enjoy Danube Tower restaurants in the tower or at the base before or after your visit.
  • Persons with musculoskeletal injuries are not allowed to slide.
  • Sliding is only permitted with a sliding mat.
  • No objects may be carried.
  • The run-out area of the slide must be left immediately.

Know Before You Go

Entry & Services:

  • Children under 14 years must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  • Opening hours may change at short notice due to weather conditions.
  • One wheelchair user per elevator, with a companion.
  • Max 3 wheelchair users on the observation terrace.Staff will guide you to the wheelchair parking area.
  • The newly designed areas on the first floor - the Donaubräu and the Donaushop - can of course be used barrier-free.
  • The indoor terrace must remain accessible as part of the escape route. Open flames and liquid gas are prohibited. Furniture and decor must meet flammability class B1 (ÖNORM B 3800/1).
  • Barrier-free use is only possible to a limited extent. Use must be supported by a member of staff.

  • You can present your ticket as either a printed copy or a mobile e-ticket, whichever is more convenient for you.

  • A limited number of paid parking spaces are available directly at the Donauturm.
  • From the Südautobahn (A2): A23 to Handelskai - Brigittenauer bridge - Donauturmstraße - Donauturm.
  • From the airport: A4 to A23 - Handelskai - Brigittenauer Brücke - Donauturmstraße - Donauturm.
  • From Korneuburg: A22 to Kaisermühlen - Wagramerstraße - Arbeiterstrandbadstraße - Donauturmstraße - Donauturm.
  • From the Westautobahn (A1): Wienzeile - Schönbrunnerstraße - Gürtelbrücke - A22 to Kaisermühlen - Wagramerstraße - Arbeiterstrandbadstraße - Donauturmstraße - Donauturm.

By Public Transport:

    Take U1 to Alte Donau or U6 to Neue Donau.
  • Option 2: Subway & Bus 20A

  • Are children allowed to visit the Danube Tower on their own?

    Children under 14 years of age are allowed entry only when accompanied by an adult.

  • Can I bring my tripod or monopod to the viewing area?

    It is not possible to bring tripods or other large items of photographic equipment into the Danube Tower.
     

  • What are the current opening times of the Slide?

    Check the opening time of the Slides on the website.

  • From what age can children use the slide?

    Children from 6 years and 110 cm are allowed to use the slide.
     

  • Does the lift go directly to the restaurant?

    The express lift has two entrances and exits: the viewing terrace and the central floor. From the central floor, there are 25 steps to the restaurant or café.

  • What special experiences does the Danube Tower offer?

    In addition to the breathtaking view, the Danube Tower also offers the highest slide in Europe, which starts from the tower at a height of 165 metres and leads to the viewing platform at 150 metres in 7-9 seconds.

  • Are Danube Tower staff trained in first aid?

    The majority of Danube Tower employees completed a first aid course.
